Happy New Year from our team at Midtown Realty Company!
We noticed something kind of fun as we were beginning to write this Episode. Watch this... It's Episode 12, and it's January 3rd. It's the start of a new year. 1...2...3...HERE WE GO! What a perfect way to kick off the new year than having a little fun right out of the gate. And with that idea in place, we thought it would be neat to think about some of the fun ways you can get your home off to a great start in 2018. Here is an easy one to start with that will help you, and others! Say good-bye to excess in 2018. We bet if you look around your home, you'll notice things that are hanging out that you could do without. Extra coats in a closet you haven't worn for years, too many pairs of shoes (yes...that is actually a thing if you aren't wearing them), or how about furniture stored in the attic that is just collecting dust. So what do you do with all of that "stuff"? Great question! The answer is that it's a win-win for you and someone else. That someone else will likely be someone you'll never meet. But they may very well need that extra coat you have (it's been VERY cold lately). They could replace the shoes they are wearing with holes in them with your extra shoes. And that furniture that is collecting dust in your attic? It could be collecting memories in someone else's home as it's repurposed for their family to enjoy. Saying good-bye to excess stuff at the beginning of 2018 opens you and your family up to new opportunities throughout the rest of the year! Lean and ready without all the excess. Ready to lean in for everything 2018 has for you. If you think of something else that would make the list we've started here, we'd love to hear it. If you share it with us, we could share it with others. When we learn from one another, that's another win-win. New year. Less stuff. More purpose. On purpose. Don't squirrel it away...give it away! :) Sounds like a solid way to kick off 2018! -Your friends at Midtown Realty Company.

Welcome to MIDWEEK with MIDTOWN: Episode 11.
It's almost 2018, but before that day arrives, there are a few more in between that hold lots of opportunity to spend time with ones you love. Here's a little thought we had about that, to round out the year. 2017. Looking back. Looking forward. Looking around, right where we are. That's the present. Years will come, years will go...but the present is always the most valuable resource we have at our disposal. To get to know the people around us better. To jump in and serve others needs above our own. To slow down and enjoy a meal with family to hear about each other's days. To enjoy life to its fullest, even when it is the busiest of times. As you ring in 2018, our hope for you is that you'll see each day leading up to New Year's Eve as a present. That you'll treat each of the 365 gifts you may receive as unique opportunities to live life to the fullest. It has been our honor to get to know you in 2017. It's been fun starting MIDWEEK with MIDTOWN, and we look forward to seeing you back here in the middle of each week to connect. And if we haven't met yet, we are very excited to see how our paths will cross in 2018. Look back, forward, and all around. When you do, do it with a smile. You are here. You are doing life with people who care about you. You get to make the lives of those love brighter with your smile. That's a gift. That's a present you can unwrap by wrapping your arms around it. Every. Single. Day. Warmest wishes for a HAPPY NEW YEAR! -The Midtown Realty Company Team If you haven't had the chance, here is a link for you to meet our growing family at Midtown Realty. When the time comes to sell or buy a home, it's important to have someone you trust guiding you through the process. You'll find all the best contact information for our associates here, so that if that day comes for you or someone you know, you have a team you can count on.
We hope that you have had a tremendous start to the New Year! May 2017 be your best year yet! Have a GREAT DAY! -From our family at Midtown Realty. A family that spends time together, grows closer. One of the ways that brings people together is rolling up sleeves, and serving alongside one another.
Serve. Go somewhere as a family, giving your time to an organization that needs it. As the first week of January fades away already, before we know it New Years resolutions may get pushed to the back burner in the hurriedness of life. When we make the intentional effort to serve others, as a family, it begins to create a home that isn't just happy for the holidays...but all year long. Talk about it at dinner tonight. Get feedback from your kids about where they would like to serve. Together...change the very fabric of your family's life, and in turn someone else's life that needs your hands and feet to be there for them in a tough season of theirs. We live in a fantastic community!
What makes that possible? People. That got us to thinking today...what might it look like to see life through someone else's viewpoint? Doing so can strengthen the fiber of each relationship that makes up this wonderful place we all call home. Sounds like fun to us! Spend time doing one thing someone loves…together, that doesn’t interest you. At the very least, you are investing in relationship. And who knows, the very thing you thought couldn't possibly interest you, might just end up capturing your attention too! When our relationships are healthier, our community is stronger. That...that is a simple way to strengthen a community. Take the walk to understand someone else, and you'll find the treasure of relationship. A solid start to the new year for all of us would look something like this...
Solve a problem in our community. Do what we can, with what we, have where we are. New Year's resolutions can feel overwhleming when they are too big, or too vague. With 2017 here, let's see what we can do about that, by doing something right from the start. Everyone has different skills, talents, and resources. The one thing we all share in common is our individuality. Putting that to work in an area where someone needs our help, solves a problem. Think about a way this week that you can solve a problem with what you have, where you are. We'll be doing the same. It's a ton of fun to be part of this community. So many great people, with huge hearts. Thanks for stopping by today. We hope you've had a GREAT start to 2017! We are thankful.
For family. For friends. For you. From our team at Midtown Realty Company, we want to wish you, your family, & your friends all the best in 2017. HAPPY NEW YEAR! |
